It has been an incredible honor to serve as co-captain of the varsity baseball team this
year. From the beginning of the season, we all recognized that every player would need to
step up for us to succeed, and I'm proud to say that each member of the team rose to the
occasion. With guys like Jason Kim, stepping up on the mound ready to dominate with his
nasty slow curve, Jerry Li with defense as perfect as his hair, Brandon “Honey-Bee” Lee in
the outfield, and the power Louis Zhu brought to the plate with his Axe Strato, I could not
be more proud of the dedication and effort shown by our whole team. We had a blend of
returning players who established a solid foundation and new teammates who brought
fresh energy and skills to the table. Every player contributed in meaningful ways, both on
and off the diamond.
We aimed for the championship title in APAC this year, but fell just a little short. I know all
the guys are disappointed with this outcome, but our progress is undeniable. We have
become a more cohesive unit than ever, stronger, and ready to soar to new heights. The
camaraderie we developed, coupled with our perseverance and hard work, has set the
tone for next season.
I know I speak for my whole team when I say we will bring the championship trophy to SAS
Puxi. The team atmosphere we’ve cultivated, marked by our determination, teamwork, and
a shared love for the game, is something I take immense pride in, and one that our coaches
are equally proud of. We can’t wait for next season, and we are proud to be able to call
ourselves the SAS Puxi varsity baseball team. We’ll be back stronger than ever next year.
