APAC Girls Tennis Recap

Sophia Konkova '28 & Zuzanna Czaplicka '28


The SASPX girls tennis team gave an extremely high level performance in their

recent APAC tennis matches as they competed against some of the best opponents in the

region.


The team started the tournament off strong with an clean win against BRENT.

Sophia Konkova set the tone with an impressive 8-0 win, while Sophie Fung contributed an

8-3 victory. Their doubles players, Sofie Yu and Zuzanna Czaplicka, showcased some

excellent skill with an 8-1 win, while Ryan Horn and Lilian Song closed off with an 8-0 win to

complete the sweep.


SASPX continued the winning streak against SASPD, as Konkova and Fung both

secured 8-2 victories. Yu and Czaplicka continued their strong performance with an 8-1

victory. Horn and Song closed things out with an 8-4 win to complete the sweep once

again.


In their matches with AISG, SASPX showcased their intensity on court once again,

with Konkova winning 8-0, Fung also dominating 8-0, and the doubles duo of Yu and

Czaplicka winning 8-0. Horn and Song faced a tougher match, but still managed to win 8-2,

further solidifying their commanding presence within the draw.


The SASPX team did, however find some resistance against ISB. Konkova won her

match 8-1, but Fung lost her hard-fought battle 6-8. In the doubles matches, Yu and

Czaplicka won 8-6, while Horn and Song lost narrowly with a score of 6-8.


Ready to bounce back, SASPX played SFS next and put up yet another show

stopping performance. Konkova crushed her opponent 8-1, while Fung showcased yet

another example of her skills with an 8-0 win. Yu and Czaplicka won 8-5 and Horn and Song

capped off their match with an 8-1 victory.


Overall, in the matches against Brent, SASPD, AISG, ISB and SFS, the performances

of our SASPX girls showed a level of elite skill and teamwork, making them by far one of

strongest teams in the APAC tournament. Resilient and almost undefeated, SASPX will be

ready for many more seasons of dominance in the coming years.
